The Fashion World Also Needs Gossip

Haider Ackermann,Gareth Pugh and Jean Paul Gaultier, the three protagonists in the hottest fashion news lately

More than six months have passed and nothing happened since the widely spread rumor early this year that Gareth Pugh was to replace Kris van Assche’s place in Dior Homme. At that time Grazia UK said with certainty that there was no two ways about it, and Dior Homme neither admit it nor deny the rumor. But the benefit is obvious; people began talking about Dior Homme again. Just think, when Lanvin, Givenchy and Thom Browne are ceaselessly creating media topics, how many people remember what Dior Homme is doing? Although Kris van Assche replaced by Gareth Pugh sounds like a good news, neither Dior Homme nor Gareth Pugh has enough confidence to make the Dior of post-Heidi era the gossip queen again, just for some exposure for the time being.

This reminds people of the sham affairs in the entertainment circles. No news? Then create one. The common mode is that an actor and actress go to have a romantic dinner date and go hand-in-hand, but privately arrange paparazzi to photograph them, in the hope of saving their decline of popularity.

The recent news that Haider Ackermann is joining Maison Martin Margiela has been approved to be another rumor that Haider Ackermann admitted frankly that it was a carefully planted hoax of him, which resulted in the majority’s hot discussion for some time. On one hand, Haider Ackermann has indeed done a good job these few years and many people are looking forward to his performance in Maison Martin Margiela; on the other hand, will Maison Martin Margiela who never shows the faces of its designers welcome a designer whose face is already well familiar in the runways shows? At least in this gossip Haider Ackermann has earned much attention.

Jean Paul Gaultier is also tossing about. There is no reason why Jean Paul Gaultier has to leave when Hermes women’s wear is gaining sustainable growth. And yes, this turns out to be untrue.

The economic climate is cold outside, speculating gossip is just right to keep warm.
